Meeting the youth where they feel safe, to heal and grow from within.
Is your child struggling with mental health issues, but refuses to go to therapy? Are they spending all their time playing video games and shutting you out? It can be tough as a parent to know how to help your child when they don't want to open up to anyone.
But what if there was a way to meet them where they are and help them heal from a place where they feel safe and comfortable? That's where I come in. As an associate professional clinical counselor and marriage and family therapist, I specialize in working with teens who are struggling with mental health issues. And I use video games and pop culture to help them open up and heal.
As a genuine geek and gamer myself, I understand this world and can speak its language. As a therapist, I understand connection, emotions, anxiety, loneliness, and communication. By blending these two things I have been able to connect with teens and preteens through video games or creative digital play therapy online. I offer my young clients safety, mentorship, healing, and the opportunity to grow. All while doing something they love.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and engaged presence that allows youth to work through issues such as attachment trauma, perfectionism, social skills, and creativity. By joining them in their world, I help them develop healthy coping mechanisms and build stronger relationships with themselves and those around them.
If you or your child is struggling and needs someone and wants to try something different, I am here to help. Together, we can work towards healing and growth from a place where you or your child feel comfortable and understood. Contact me today to learn more about how I can help.
